XYL Roam
Ladies:
There is a LOT to see in Austin and if you are a 6M BBQ repeater, you have seen many of the places! I am looking into what will be going on Saturday, September 30 and aiming for new spots and a fun lunch.
Check out all Austin has to offer at https://www.austintexas.org. Drop down to “Plan A Trip” and then “Get Your Visitor Guide”to download or order this exciting guide to all things Austin! It will give you ideas for exploring on your own before or after Saturday.
If you are coming or interested in attending, please send me your name, cell # (for “the day of”), email for updates and where you’ll be staying. It will be a big help in planning and good for y’all to know who might also be staying where you are to coordinate getting to Jimmy’s, etc. My email is kh@lazyh.me.
We’ll be working around the OM schedule on Saturday.
Those hams interested in the technical talks will want to be at Jimmy’s around 8am for coffee & donuts before the program from 9:00 til 4:00: Tech talks, lunch, more tech talks before the 5:00 BBQ!
At the same time, we will gather at the LaQuinta on 620 (6 miles from Jimmy’s) around 8:30 to leave in the bus around 9. I’d like to get back to LaQuinta by 3 so we can all relax a minute and then carpool or catch a Lyft to Jimmy’s at 4-ish before dinner at 5.
The best plan is for as many of you as possible to stay at the LaQuinta (and make your reservation as soon as you can), so that the bus can pick everyone up at 9 for the roam. There are several restaurants, shopping and a huge HEB grocery with anything you might have forgotten within a block’s walk! Hill Country Galleria shopping is about 3 miles away.
For those staying somewhere else (there are a few staying at Sonesta at Hill Country Galleria) perhaps you can carpool or take Lyft or Uber to LaQuinta.
Looking forward to seeing you,
Kathie
